Mt. Kilimanjaro
Crowned by an eternal snowcap throughout the year, Mt. Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa [the roof top of Africa] and the tallest freestanding mountain on in the world at 5,895 metres above sea level located on 005.00 degrees south and 036 degrees east. With its three volcanic cones, Kibo, Mawenzi and Shira, is a dormant volcanic mountain in Tanzania.
The first ascender was Ludwig Purtscheller in 1849, an Austrian mountaineer and teacher who in the 19th century did all the route finding and lead climbing, and the followed by Hans Heinrich Josef Meyer in 1889, a German geographer from Hildburghausen, credited with being the first European to reach the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. The major routes to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro includes the Marangu, Machame, Umbwe, Mweka, Shira, Lemosho, Rongai (Nalemoru), and Arrow Glacier routes.

Mt. Meru
Mount Meru situated within the Arusha National Park is located about 70 kilometers west of MtKilimanjaro in the Northern Tourism Circuit of Tanzania. Mount Meru is an active stratovolcano with approximately an altitude of 4566m above the sea level. Mount Meru is the fifth highest mountain on the African continent and the second highest in Tanzania. The first ascent was Fritz Jager in 1904.
The Mt. Meru ascent passes through many different vegetation zones which makes its most wonderful and beauty contributing to attractions to many visitors to include the following:-
